In the first stage of our move, we planned to pack-up and move some of our stuff and store it while selling our current house. The second stage comes after we buy a new house, and we will want to move all our stuff to the new house. In the second stage we plan on packing up and moving the rest of our stuff from our old house plus moving the stuff that was stored by 495 Movers. In the first stage, we had a very positive experience with the initial pack-up and move. Leo, the supervisor of the packing and moving team, paid attention to our desires and communicated those desires to his team. In the packing, we were so impressed by how quickly and pleasantly his team worked, but also how carefully they packed all our precious possessions, with the same care that they might if those had been their own possessions. We look forward to the second stage of our move going as positively as the first stage.

Comments: I recently contracted with 495 Movers to move my household furnishing from Northern Virginia to my new residence in South Jersey. I interviewed several other moving firms before I signed the contract with 495 Movers. I was impressed with their level of service and that the contract would be of a flat rate, rather than by pounds of my household goods. I really could not understand how the other companies could accurately quote me with the number of pounds my furnishing would be and was not sure if I would be charged if the pounds exceeded their estimate. The crew from 495 Movers were on time for the initial packing day, and on time for the second day when they finished. All members of the crew were very professional, and considerate of my household goods. They were also on time for delivery of my household goods at my new residence in South Jersey the following day, 170 miles away. They followed my instructions as to where I wanted things to be put, and reassemble all the beds and tables, etc. The only thing I can add is that they were the best Movers I have experience in over 40 years. Their moving price was not the lowest or highest, but the quality of the move was the best. They packed the household goods so well, that nothing was damaged, and now the only thing I have left to do is to call my Township to have them pick up all the boxes and packing paper

They were the most professional, most responsive, and most expeditious moving company with whom I have worked� and I have moved several times in the last 20 years. We did a FaceTime call to go over the particulars of the move, which was very safe and efficient given the spike in Covid. We received a bid very comparable to other movers, however the 495 Movers bid included tape, paper, moving boxes, and other necessities. The day of the move, Santos called a half hour before the team� s arrival. His team worked diligently and efficiently, showing the utmost care for all our valuables. The team of workers was very pleasant and professional. They packed and boxed a large townhouse within minutes of Santos� s initial estimate. When they arrived at the new location, the team worked very quickly to move all our furniture into place� without a scratch to anything. They were very patient with us when we wanted a piece of furniture moved or changed. They completed the job in far less time than anticipated. I would highly recommend 495 Movers. Their professionalism, integrity, and efficiency are unparalleled. Thanks again for making (what we were imagining would be) a stressful experience and transition so smooth.

Comments: 495movers first came to our house and went through all the items to move with us (other movers we called didn't come to the house, but rather gave us a quote that reflected how we filled out their online forms, which ended up being higher). They also gave us tips about how to pack, and what we should move on our own. They also supplied free boxes (I ended going to their location twice to get them). Thus, we were very well prepared on moving day. They were careful with all the furniture (wrapping it, etc.) and nothing was damaged during the move. The total move ended up taking only half the time originally envisioned (probably because we were well prepared), so the final cost ended up much lower than the original estimate. We were very satisfied with their services and highly recommend them.

I didn� t trust the low-ball estimates I received with no site survey that relied solely on me to give them the inventory. For a whole house move I wanted professionals. They tried to switch the rate and number of movers after the fact because they thought they couldn� t do it in the time they originally quoted, but since we packed and moved some on our own, the ended up finishing several hours under the original quote. Furniture wasn� t broken, but they did leave a few items in the old house we had to go back and get.

Comments: We negotiated a flat rate that included all packing materials we wanted prior to move - we just picked them up. Great relief. The movers were helpful and prompt. The boxes, however, confused everyone as the check boxes for the rooms were after the room names instead of before. We had to move many boxes from upstairs to the basement and vise versa because they read the checkbox wrong. Occasionally it seemed they put boxes where they wanted as well. They were helpful in placing furniture though.

Comments: Moved my college graduate daughter out of her apartment and back home 150 miles away. 495 Movers were highly professional, carefully wrapping each piece of furniture with thick protective paper padding and then with plastic wrap. They created special cardboard protective containers for the TV and paintings. They unloaded into a storage facility near our home, and were very strategic in their placement of the items on top of each other to maximize the use of the storage space. I would gladly use this company again.

Comments: It is not often that I take the time to write a review, however, I felt compelled to do so given the consistently exceptional moving and customer service I have received from 495 Movers on two occasions.My first experience with 495 Movers was in 2016 when I moved from DC to Bethesda. The move was worry free from start to finish from the initial call with Tom Osprey who explained the entire process to me in full user friendly detail to the delivery of boxes, tape and packing material to my home to the packing, transport and reassembly of my furniture in my new place. The move was comparably priced (if not a little less) than other moving services, and quoted as a flat rate which I loved. Additionally, with 495 movers, you get so much more value all around given the courtesy, professionalism and efficiency of the team and one certainly cannot put a price tag on excellence. Because of my first wonderful experience with Tom and the 495 movers Team in 2016, when I needed to move from DC to New York this year, I did not even consider researching another moving service. I reached out to Tom and once again, he was extremely responsive, professional and customer focused as were the gentlemen who picked up my items in MD and those who delivered them safely to NYC. While I have moved several times previously, I have never had such a good experience with movers. For this reason and many others, I highly recommend 495 movers without reservations and I am confident that if you select them to do your move, you, too will receive exceptional worry free service.

Comments: It was a long (15 hour) local move about 50 miles. The team was skilled, efficient and professional throughout. It was a partial move from a large house to a smaller one with not everything being moved, so precise planning was important. Also a one-day move was important to our schedule. The other company we interviewed wanted to do it in two and use different teams. We preferred this approach. We had many high-value, awkward art pieces and they were on top of the packing for all of them, recommending a wooden case in one instance. Truck, packing and wrapping materials (except for the wooden case) were included in the hourly labor rate so no hidden extras. We took extra insurance which was expensive but insurance always looks expensive if you don' have a claim. They did two pre-surveys, one by the marketing guy and one by a senior team leader to be sure they had a good plan. The team was four and in hindsight could have used five but they got it done. They were not inexpensive but we had a lot of art and antiques that couldn't be replaced or easily repaired if damaged. I would recommend them for a high-value move, just insist on the proper pre-planning. If you work with them throughout the day you get excellent value since they are willing to do whatever you ask. In addition to the move they repositioned several large pieces in both houses.

I would however recommend getting an estimator to come to your home vs receiving the estimate over the phone as my move ended up costing $300 more than my quote. I have seen and dealt with some very average moving companies, some very good ones – but none reaching the service, quality and can do attitude of 495 movers. This company has the standards and the way of operating way beyond its competitors. I always do my due diligence and take the time to understand the quotes and hidden extras – moving is stressful enough, and you don’t want to deal with increasing costs at various steps of the move. The owner of 495 movers came by to do a thorough inspection and inventory check. I was provided with a flat fee quote – meaning the cost is fixed price and no increases will be introduced to this. It was not the cheapest to start with - and they were transparent about this, but read the little print of the other quotes, align the offers and calculate the potential additional costs – once you have done the math you will figure out there are two ways of doing business: The transparent upfront style and the low quote – hidden costs way. I read the evaluations, and made a decision. 495 movers delivered exactly what was promised, the team arrived on time – to be exact half an hour early at 7.45 on a Wednesday morning and started their work. The team was friendly, professional – disassembled the furniture and packed everything with great care, loaded everything to the truck with a professional can-do attitude – and completed the job in a record time. They departed from DC area the same afternoon and delivered to Greater Boston area the following morning at 9.30 AM. They unloaded the truck, had to carry some larger furniture to the fourth floor, assembled the furniture. Unloading was done with the same efficiency and polite professional can do attitude. Everything arrived unscratched, there was no damage. I have never dealt with another moving company which has made moving so stress free, pleasant and straightforward as 495 movers did. The only reason I give them 5 stars is that you can’t go beyond that.

Comments: I used 495 movers to move my household from Maryland to Georgia back in October. The move was perfect thanks to this moving company. They packed and shipped all of my furniture, framed art, extensive book collection, to Georgia within 2 days - and I had a lot of furniture and other items! I did not have to worry about any aspect of the move. There were no hidden costs sprung on me at the last minute , which is what lot of other moving companies do. The movers were professional, polite and on time. Luis was so professional and responsive in facilitating all of the details of the move and Freddie, David, Paul and the rest of the crew worked very hard to pack, and ship my things in Maryland and then deliver, unpack and set-up all of my furnishings in the Georgia home. They did not leave my new home until I was happy with the delivery, set-up and placement of the furniture. I had occasion to do business again with the company just recently and again, they did an awesome job. If you want to take the stress out of a long (or short) distance move, use 495 movers - you will be happy you did!

An estimator came out the very next morning and worked us through a last minute office move (6 days notice). The movers came early to scope out the office and came up with a game plan.
